Dent tried emailing you pal but it wouldn't work. Please pass on to Garry. Cheers Aj.
Dent,
Please please please can you pass on my best wishes to Garry. I am an old mate. My dad “Hazz” used to work with Garry’s dad Kevin at Rolla in Brighouse.
I used to go watch Garry when they used to have the practice nights at Odsal, years ago (remember his little transits which were sponsored by Rolla). I hadn’t spoken to Garry for years and last spoke to him a while ago now in the Greyhound at Rastrick we spoke about his British performance. I saw his van a lot at the Halifax hospital about a year ago, I was becoming a dad and my daughters was 10 weeks early so in hospital a couple of month’s. I was hoping to bump into him but didn’t.
I pass Garry’s house nearly every day as I work at the school just down the road, (The William Henry Smith School). And I always toot when he is out cleaning off the bike. I have called a few times in the past but not got an answer just presumed he was out racing.
Well that’s who I am.
It was horrendous news when I found out just today about Garry’s condition and events that had led to it. My dad rang me at work to tell me . I am absolutely totally gutted for you all. I would really like to get hold of one of those wrist bands so maybe I could post the money through the letterbox perhaps ? (I will wait for you to give me the nod on that one). I truly am sincerely gutted and don’t really know what to say with out being or sounding selfish. Only I wish you all the best and I am still local at Bradley, and always passing to work and to my mum and dads house just up the road on Slade Lane, so if I can help in anyway please feel free to ask, and I will do all I can.
I hope this reaches you are you are improving everyday,
The very very best wishes to you and all your family
